Setting up DSRM Synchronised passwords for SBS 2008

If for some reason you need to update or reset the password for DSRM (Directory Services Restore Mode) then you’ll want to have a look at this.  After backing up your server, download and install the update for your server.

Once you’ve installed this, you are now able to execute the following command:

ntdsutil "set dsrm password" "sync from domain account <AccountName>" q q

This will synchronise the password from <AccountName> to the DSRM.
