Vista Ultimate – Windows Defender as an Antivirus Tool?

Wow.  I’ve been playing with this new install of Vista 64bit, and was searching for a promotional code for a product I thought was due for an upgrade.  Happened upon a BLATENTLY bad-news website, that offered up an executable that would give me said promotional code.

Saved it to disk – in a folder labelled "Virus" – and wouldn’t you know it – Windows Defender pops up with this:

Unfortunately,  I have limited faith in it actually stopping me from running it – with this dialogue up, I was able to open the .exe (SFX RAR file FYI) and could extract all files to the hard drive, right next to the packed executable.

Oh well, at least a big scary red box is something I guess.
